What could be more fun than adventuring with your family around the Pacific Rim on a 60 foot Gulfstar sailboat?
For 18 years, Patrick has been dreaming of his ultimate vacation. Now, along with his family, the adventure has become reality.
Our three-year journey, sailing the Caribbean and Pacific Rim, began on September 6, 2015 when we left Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada. Landing in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA, we spent two months getting sv Stop Work Order ready for our departure in November 2015.
We welcome you to participate in our excursion via this website. Click here to see our travels to date.
Join Patrick, Corice, Ciara, Cameron and Truly as they embark upon the journey of their lives!
I fell in love with sailing during summer camp at the age of 12 on a small lake in southwestern BC. I was allowed to take out a 12’ Laser with another camper, and instantly became infatuated with both the mechanics and the peacefulness of being propelled by the wind up and down the lake.
As I grew up, I dreamed of exploring far off places and had my retirement planned sailing the world, visiting other cultures and seeing places others would only read about. After a spectacular trip with my grandfather through the Panama Canal, I realized that waiting for retirement to fulfill my dreams would likely result in my dreams being either watered down or just remaining dreams.
So I made a plan to work hard toward a three-year retirement when I hit forty. I soaked up all the information I could get my hands on over the next twenty years, and together with my wife Corice and later my three children we learned to sail, planned a route, and ironed out the logistics of our adventure.
I hope to learn more about the world around me, see beautiful places, and grow closer to my family over these three years. Creating memories and experiencing adventure.
Patrick and I have been married for 18 years and have three wonderful children. Next to them, I love learning about Jesus, playing baseball and eating chocolate.
I was born and raised in British Columbia, Canada. Now, I live all over the place!
I have post secondary education in office administration and biblical studies. I am looking forward to enjoying God's amazing creations and spending quality time with my family.

HOW IT STARTED
Patrick and Craig (his father-in-law) traveled to Alberta to meet our new J30, Ariel, and transport her back to BC. The previous owner, from Lake of the Woods, Ontario, met them partway. That is when the adventure began....
Sailing on Ariel at Harrison Lake and at Point Roberts. Ciara was 6, Cameron 3 and Truly 2.
